Didn’t we just have like 2 full days of snow and rain?

A Comment on the New England Weather

New Englanders Unite! I will start this post with the bold statement that I have yet to complain about the weather during what people have called “the worst winter in a long time.” It was cold, it snowed all the time, not to mention we suffered through a devastating ice storm that took power away from millions. The end of February brought change though, we had a really nice week with some mild temps, but then March comes in and dumps a foot of snow the first week. No complaints from me.

And then, the weekend we change the clocks forward, we get some absolutely beautiful weather. It’s almost as if we double-dared Mother Nature to throw down some hope and inspiration to wait it out. Soon the New England  Spring will hit; flowers bloom, grass grows, trees bud, and the windows open. And then everyone will start complaining about the rain … no pleasing some people. Enjoy the weather, its the only one we got.

  • What’s most frustrating is not the weather, but the inconsistency. For instance, today was gorgeous and 50 degrees, but tomorrow there are chances of snow. That just makes me sad. I don’t mind the winter – I spent 4 yrs in Maine – but when it’s springy, I want spring!

I believe February was a doozie for everyone. In CA we had double our average rainfall, yet we are still about 80% of what we need for the year. Hopefully we won’t suffer yet another drought (this would be the 3rd year I believe). Don’t get me wrong, there is a reason I live in CA – nothing can beat blue skies, white fluffy clouds and warm sunshine, but I can wait a few more months. Bring on the rain (and snow)!
