All the way from Arizona, Ashley and I had the privilege of hosting Haley (Ash’s Sister) and her boyfriend Kris for a few days. They were in town for a wedding and they really didn’t want to sleep that much so they decided to stay on our pullout which comes equipped with two 9 month old cats, which are very busy in the wee hours of the morning. (ha ha, welcome to my life) Unfortunately when family and friends live so far away you seem to never spend enough time with them. It was great to have them here, and they even allowed us a portrait session. After growing up with Ashley, Haley is very much used to the camera, and Kris, well, he’s getting used to it. Thanks for the good times, see you in September!!!
These guys definitely made there presence known at a recent shoot on a farm in Central Mass. I would have hired them but they’ve only shot chrome and were completely confused when I tried to tell them about digital. Our good friend Shawn, owner and head beekeeper of Purest Honey Apiary in Leominster, MA, just installed 4 new honey bee hives and invited us along for the experience. Although I don’t have a great fear of bees, when I was surrounded by a swarm of 15,000 bees it got a little overwhelming; but that was only the first hive. After the fourth one was installed there were roughly 60,000 bees all buzzing around getting acclimated and finding their queens. Pretty cool, thanks for the adventure Shawn. NO PHOTOGRAPHERS WERE HARMED DURING THE MAKING OF THESE IMAGES. More images on flickr A Comment on the New England Weather New Englanders Unite! I will start this post with the bold statement that I have yet to complain about the weather during what people have called “the worst winter in a long time.” It was cold, it snowed all the time, not to mention we suffered through a devastating ice storm that took power away from millions. The end of February brought change though, we had a really nice week with some mild temps, but then March comes in and dumps a foot of snow the first week. No complaints from me. And then, the weekend we change the clocks forward, we get some absolutely beautiful weather. It’s almost as if we double-dared Mother Nature to throw down some hope and inspiration to wait it out. Soon the New EnglandĀ Spring will hit; flowers bloom, grass grows, trees bud, and the windows open. And then everyone will start complaining about the rain … no pleasing some people. Enjoy the weather, its the only one we got. ~Rich |
