Starting Off with a Bang!

Westford, MA – Fireworks have been a quintessential metaphor for love and passion since I can remember, so having a display at a wedding is a perfect surprise treat for your guests. Ed and Elena did just this at their wedding reception, which just happened to be the debut wedding at Butterbrook Golf Club in Westford, MA. A beautiful, family owned golf course, Butterbrook has just opened their venue for weddings and receptions and their first one went off without a hitch. The fireworks show, which was probably about 10 minutes long, was certainly impressive and added another dimension of fun to the reception. It was  a great way to end a really fantastic Summer wedding.

Beyond the dramatic ender and after looking over these images, Ed and Elena had some amazing light throughout the day. Their ceremony took place at St. Irene’s Catholic Church in quiet, Carlisle, MA. On this sunny and bright day, this church glowed with beautiful, natural light for this wedding ceremony. Photographers often talk passionately about light, and this wedding day was an absolute pleasure to shoot.

Early Birds Catch the Light

Acton Arboretum; Acton, MA – The up and down New England Summer always makes it tricky to plan engagement session. Rain tends to be the bad guy and for Kayleigh and Mike they experienced that more than a few times this year. Their first engagement session was rained out and due to a really tight schedule we could only work a sunrise engagement session. The light is always amazing in the morning, and photographers are certainly willing to brave a few early hours for the opportunity, plus we can easily justify a mid-day nap from the experience!  We couldn’t have made these pictures in the evening here at the Acton Arboretum and it the crisp, quiet air and strong light made up for the original rain out.  So in the future if anyone is interested in a morning engagement session we are totally down for it!

Love on a Rock!

Princeton, MA – On their wedding day, Greg and Cathy enjoyed the view on top of Wachusett Mountain in Princeton, MA. It was a beautiful June day in Central MA, and a perfect afternoon to ride the lift up to the top of the mountain; the view was spectacular.

A Cambodian Wedding

Lowell, MA – Naline and Richard were married in Lowell at the Hong Kong Restaurant in early June. They planned a combination of a small civil ceremony and a traditional Cambodian celebration.  This was something new for us and it was quite freeing to be working with a much different timeline.  This wedding was very inclusive to the guests; they were more a part of the day, than just witnesses to the ceremony and reception activities. Overall, this was a great experience for us as wedding photographers. To break out of the western wedding mold and be a part of Naline and Richard’s day was memorable and we’re so happy for these two. Here are some of favorite images from their day!
