Wedding Season Has Kicked Off!

Congratulations to Maeghan & Corey on their recent marriage. These two love birds chose two very unique, very beautiful locations for their big day. The ceremony was held at the historic Cushing Chapel in Framingham, MA. Part of a former military hospital, the chapel has a deep history and is a beautiful New England landmark. The reception was held at The Warren Conference Center & Inn in Ashland, MA. With a gorgeous red barn and sprawling ground, we find the Warren Center a beautiful spot with so many opportunities for portraits. The bride and groom had the foresight to invite Jennifer from Esq. Events to handle the wedding coordination. This was our first time working with Jen and we were just blown away by her attention to detail and organization; she is fantastic!

If you know the bride and groom  you would understand that they are two of the most warm and friendly people you will ever meet. So it’s not surprising that they were able to create beautifully charming and intimate wedding experience for their guests. Throughout the day, no matter where you looked, you saw faces beaming with joy for the bride and groom. Needless to say that makes our job as wedding photographers incredibly meaningful.

Chocksett Inn Wedding

Sterling MA – We were fortunate to meet Erica and Dave early in 2010 and we got to know each other during our engagement session in the North End the fall of that year. Engagement sessions are always a “break the ice” type of situation for couples and their photographers, but I remember these two warming up to the camera super quick. And it was soon obvious that these two are just head over heals in love, which of course makes our job a piece of cake

Erica and Dave  were married at the beautiful Chocksett Inn in Sterling, MA on a perfect Autumn day last year. Their family and friends fed off of the love that these two have for each other. It was a pretty awesome wedding and as their photographers we certainly wanted our images to convey their love and happiness. Congratulations to this wonderful couple! A Beautifully Inspired Bridal Shower at the Top of the Hub

Boston, MA – Have you ever checked out the Love the Day blog? If you like super stylized parties, you’re going to freak out when you see this blog. Recently some of our images were published in Love the Day and we’re pretty pumped about it! 

Last summer we were excited to hear from one of our brides about photographing her bridal shower. Not only was Anne’s shower being held at the Top of the Hub restaurant, but it was going to be stylized by Anne’s very talented cousin Katie of Petite Social, an event styling company based out of D.C. Our excitement to photograph this event was obvious and our expectations were just blown away when we saw the room. The green and copper colors were a perfect pairing and the white roses added a classic elegance. There was inspiration from Jimmy Choo, so of course there had to be shoe cookies, right? Overall, Katie styled a gorgeous event. The only thing that surpassed the view from atop the Prudential Building was the decor of this bridal shower.

Registering for a honeymoon destination might be an exciting option for you!

Meeting and talking about wedding planning has been part of our work for sometime, and it’s also been part of our life since we started planning our wedding, which seems like yesterday and forever ago all at the same time. It’s no joke that wedding planning can be stressful, and the absolute best reprieve from this that we got was from planning the honeymoon. I try to tell all of our couples to every once and awhile to stop toiling over the invite list and start thinking about their happy honeymoon place.

Now, our situation was a bit different because we only planned a “mini-moon” due to the fact that we had our wedding in the prime middle of wedding season and needed to get back to work. However, we had planned to take a mid-winter getaway with plenty of beach, sun and rum concotions. This plan was hijacked by the most lovely of all creations, our daughter Evelyn. We never did get that full honeymoon, but if we had to do it all over again, we would have just registered for a crazy getaway.

Recently, I came across Wanderable honeymoon registries on the very popular wedding blog 100 Layer Cake. This blog is a perfect for all things involving wedding inspiration, so I figured I should pass on the information.

Boston MA -  Matt and Lisa’s wedding at the Warren Conference Center has recently been featured on the popular bridal blog, Beantown Bride! It’s always fun for us as photographers to show off some of our favorite wedding photographs, but it’s certainly a thrill for our brides and grooms as well. Every winter I choose a series of portraits to work on with an underlying theme. This gives me the chance to work on my lighting and posing skills without taking chances on paid sessions. This year, having my own little girl, I wanted to tie in three things, weddings, little girls, and moms. At first I had no idea how I was going to do this, then the idea just hit. Little girls dressed up in their mother’s wedding dresses. I chose a simple gray background because I wanted it to have the feeling of the classic bridal portraits most of us remember see of our own moms. The girls had a lot of fun playing dress ups in mom’s wedding gown.

TD Garden of Bruins Love

Boston, MA – Jackie and Brian are die-hard Bruins fans and after a thrilling year, where the Boston faithful got a chance to witness a Stanley Cup Victory, what better place for an engagement session? When we start planning the session, we always ask our couples about their favorite places and we are lucky to have clients that think outside the box… oh and who have season tickets. The TD Garden representatives were very gracious in giving us a little tour of the building and allowing to go pretty much where ever we wanted… except of course the ice. The ice was off limits mainly because there was an unscheduled Bruins practice going on. Did I forget to mention that? Yeah, how hard is it to keep your couples’ attention when they are watching their favorite players practicing? It actually wasn’t that hard, I’m just being dramatic here, but it was an incredibly unique experience for all of us. I have to mention that as we were leaving, we got to see Bruins legend and current club president, number 8 Cam Neely. Brian got to chat him up a bit which was a perfect ender to a great engagement session!

Their Love Shines Through the Mist

Bourndale, MA – It was one of those constantly drizzly, rainy days in New England. Nowhere during the day was it a complete downpour, but we knew that Alena and Greg would probably have to push their outdoor ceremony to the inside. The folks at the Bourndale Function Facility did a great job preparing for the switch and that transition is never easy.

Despite the weather, Alena and Greg were in great spirits about their wedding day and we were all thankful that, although misty, the weather still held off enough for us have a first look and take portraits outside. Most brides and grooms might not be as intrepid, but for Alena and Greg the day was more about the love and honesty that they were about to share than just the dress, tuxedo and makeup. As wedding photographers we always have to prepare for weather contingencies, and although we could have made images anywhere, it was nice to still utilize the outside and we surprisingly did not get that wet.
