Lowell, MA – It’s hard to imagine that we’ve been photographing Lilee for over 2 years now, if you consider Steph’s maternity portraits. This girl’s got so much personality and, at this point, pretty much dictates our portrait sessions with her own ideas… at two years old! So adorable…
This was our second year at the family home for pictures with the first time being for the classic cake destruction of ’09. These sessions are real easy on the kids because it’s a completely familiar environment and they are already at home… literally. The distractions of a studio or another outdoor location can definitely affect the photos, so the at home location is perfect for kids under 3. Add some beautiful light and a lady bug sprinkler and we have ourselves a shoot!
Now we are wondering what Lilee has in store for her annual winter shoot in the studio, she’s going to have to top last year {see part of it here}. We’ll be expecting some cuteness, that’s for sure.

In Studio Family Portraits
Lowell, MA – At 2 years old, Alaina was wonderful to photograph. Most sessions with children this age are super high paced. This was no different, but with those blue eyes and dimples, she made it incredibly easy to make these images. Here are some of our favorites from the session and I believe it’s also the introduction of the blue suitcase… kids love the blue suitcase!

6 Month Old Portraits
Lowell, MA – Who doesn’t love punk rock babies and sock monkey hats? OMG, Rosslyn is 6 months old!

“You won’t really know if you got it, so keep shooting”
Lowell, MA - This was one of the most high energy family sessions of last year. But what do you do when these sweet and adorable kids are so full of energy and can hardly stay still? In this case we got a lot of support from Mom and Dad (crucial to any family session), and we also took a ton of pictures. It was like shooting sports, where you follow the action and trust your auto focus. And of course we photographed the whole family together at the beginning of the session, when the kids were still warming up to the studio environment. After that we kind of just let them be themselves (which is our natural style anyway), as opposed to trying to pose them. The best part about a high energy session is that when you are looking back at your images your realize that you’ve captured their personalities perfectly.
