Love at the MA Horticultural Society

Wellesley, MA - Elm Bank, the Massachusetts Horticultural Society, was the spot chosen by Alena + Greg for their engagement session last weekend. This place is beautiful with so many different gardens and spots for portraits that it was difficult to focus on choosing a place to get started. Our first thought was, “how have we never been here before!” This is definitely going on the list of awesome places for engagement sessions!

So, on a beautiful and cool June evening, Alena + Greg and Ashley + myself walked around and explored the grounds, made some portraits and talked about life, weddings and everything in between. It was great to get to know these two a bit better and warm them up to the camera. But as you can see in these images, they are naturals.

Here are some of our favorite images from this engagement session and you’ll be seeing a lot more of them after their wedding this September!

Gorgeous Spring Wedding at the Warren Conference Center & Inn

Ashland, MA – Matt + Lisa were married at the The Warren Conference Center & Inn on a beautiful Sprint evening in Massachusetts. This was a super fun wedding, not only because the venue was fantastic, but because the people were even more fantastic. The bride and groom are so much fun to work with and as you can imagine so are their friends and family. Wedding photography is an enjoyable career when you can surround yourself with people that love to laugh. I think at one point Matt + Lisa and Ashley and I decided we’re all going to be friends “in real life.” :) This is actually in our business plan, to turn all of our wedding couples into friends… and it’s working!

Congratulations to Matt + Lisa! Thanks for letting us be a part of your wedding day, it was incredible.

Here’s a few of our favorites from the day…

Their Wedding, Their Way

Belmont, MA – We had the privilege of photographing Rob and Colleen’s wedding last November at the Belmont Country Club.  Rob and Colleen planned their wedding a bit differently. It was planned the way they wanted it and it was really special to witness and photograph. Not wanting a large ceremony, but still wanting to celebrate with all of their family and friends, they made a brave decision to have a private, smaller ceremony with only immediate family and super close friends. Feeling that this would take a bit of pressure off and allow them to enjoy the intimate moments of the ceremony. It worked!

They would get a bit of time by themselves as husband and wife and then have another ceremony (with Jewish traditions) for their entire guest list to witness. It also worked out that the bride and groom also got to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests because they worked in their portraits after the first ceremony. Genius!

This was a unique way of handling the pressure of the ceremony and a large guest list and it went over very well. Another added personal touch was that Colleen’s Dad made the chuppah himself. It was really well made and he was incredibly proud of it, as he should be. Overall this wedding was really well done and we can’t be more happy for the bride and groom.
