Kids Being Kids

As families grow so do its individual members. It’s important to us to capture each child at their particular stage in their life, so we would never photograph a 2 year old the same way we would a 6 year old. Having them bring in objects (toys, books, games and dress-ups) that they love sometimes helps bring out their individuality. It’s also important that the kids have fun during the session because that’s when we can capture their true personalities.

Sessions with siblings are usually very high energy and it can be challenging to keep their interest for the entire session. However, when we love photographing brothers and sisters together because when they interact with each other it is completely genuine. Even if the photography experience is new to them, they have their support network right there and that adds to the atmosphere both in the studio and on location.

Our job is pretty fun, don’t you think?

A Smooth Transition from Wedding Photography into Family Photography

Lowell, MA – Here’s a look at Addison’s newborn portraits from last fall. She was about a month old at the time and did a great job posing it up for the camera. Of course our favorite photo is the one where her older brother is holding her… priceless!

Our venture into family photography started when our wedding clients began having children. They would call us with their exciting news and in that instant we moved beyond the role of wedding photographer into the role of family photographer. The experience of a wedding really brings us into the lives of our clients, so when it is time for them to start a family they can still rely on our photography to capture the joy and love of family.

2010 Wedding Season | The Original Wedding Expo

Lowell MA – Here we are in 2010, ready to begin another fantastic wedding season. For us, our season begins with an appearance at one of New England’s best bridal shows. We will be exhibiting at The Original Wedding Expo on January 23 – 24 in Marlborough MA and we couldn’t be more excited. If you interested or know of anyone who might benefit from meeting a ton of great wedding professionals, click here for 2 for 1 passes.

Two years ago we had the best time working our booth at this very same show, so we decided to return. The fast pace and excitement of a packed trade show can really get your adrenaline up; and we have the opportunity to meet new couples and talk to them about their wedding photography expectations. The only down side is there just isn’t enough one on one time with the guests (it’s kind of like speed dating), but we always try to stay in touch for the first couple weeks after the show to answer any questions they may have. Hopefully this year we get a booth located conveniently near a bakery display, as their give-aways are so tasty, and it keeps people returning to our booth {grin}.
