So Happy Together!!!

Andover, MA – Susan and Charlie were married at St. Clement Church in Medford, MA in late June and their reception was held at the Andover Country Club. You might remember them from their sneak peek we posted in July. What a fun wedding with these two wonderful people. It was a day where we rarely stopped smiling and laughing. The reception was full of surprises for the guests as we got two crazy dances; the first dance and the father – daughter dance started as a traditional slow dances and ended with a bang! We are so happy for this couple and feel honored to have been their wedding photographers. Hooray for the newlyweds!

Rutland, MA – So, why can’t we have 30 weeks a year like we have in mid-October? If we did, as New Englanders we would probably find some way for it to annoy us. Our Winter is too long, our Spring shows up once every couple years, our Summer is humid, but our Fall, that’s when we step out into the air and relish the time of year. It’s also a very popular time for family photos! Here’s just a few of our favorites from our yearly session with the Jones family!

Fall in Love with this Engagement Session … we sure did!

Bolton, MA - The colorful New England Fall, there isn’t a more beautiful place for an engagement session. Jen + Pat will be married next Spring but we had the opportunity to spend a few hours with them at Nashoba Valley Winery in Bolton, MA.  These images are testament to the reasoning behind our engagement sessions, which is to break the ice of being photographed and to have fun at the same time.

These two originally had no interest in engagement portraits, but after going into detail about the process, they were soon on board and chose this fantastic location. And at first, they were admittedly nervous which is usually the case. The trick for any couple being photographed for their engagements is to pretend that they are the only two people in the universe at that particular time. I know it’s not that easy with a camera pointed at them, but if they can escape by looking into each others eyes, it is in effect a real moment and it will definitely prove so in the photos.

Jen + Pat make an incredibly cute couple and it was so great to get to know them. In the end, this session is going to set the cornerstones of their wedding photography. And as of right now it’s our first wedding of 2011, so we are so looking forward to it.

Atkinson, NH – On a gorgeous Autumn evening, Chris and Lyndsey were married at the Atkinson Resort in Atkinson, NH. This wedding was one we had been anticipating since we met the bride and groom way back in early 2009. The four of us have seen each other about a half dozen times for consultations, print deliveries and of course, their engagement session so we’ve definitely had a lot of time to get to talk and get to know each other. This added a bit of sentimentality to our day because we couldn’t be happier for these two!

Bolton, MA – New England in the Fall is a perfectly romantic time to get married. Ben and Ricki-Ann tied the knot at The International Golf Resort in beautiful Bolton, Massachusetts. This is New England’s only 5 star golf resort, so you can imagine how great of a time everyone had at the wedding and the whole weekend as well. The bride and groom were smiles from ear to ear and it was an absolutely exceptional wedding.

Where’s your engagement session going to be?

Mendon, MA – Here’s one of our favorite engagement sessions of the summer and you may recognize these two as we’ve just posted the sneak peek to their wedding. Heather and Dave chose Southwick’s Zoo in Mendon, MA for their engagement session and it was a very interesting choice. It was one of those “scattered showers” kind of spring day and without an opportunity for a rain date we crossed our fingers and toughed it out. We arrived a couple hours before closing and we had the whole place to ourselves, which was pretty special.

Choosing an interesting and meaningful location can make an engagement session that much more special. It helps to create a comfortable atmosphere and break the ice a bit between photographer and subject. Heather and Dave’s session is a prime example of this. These two are so sweet and cute around each other that it made it super easy to have a great time.

This reception was full of joy and laughter and it was an absolute pleasure to photograph. Once again, congratulations to the bride and groom. Lowell, MA - Rachael+Ariel are planning their June wedding in Lenox, MA at the beautiful Seven Hills Inn. It’s actually a destination wedding for them and the majority of their guests because they are currently living in Florida. In fact they drove up only days before our engagement session. That’s a tough commute to get some wedding planning done, but we were delighted to hear that we’d have a chance to meet and have an engagement session before the wedding.

It’s pretty important for the couple and their photographers to get to know each other before the wedding. Engagement sessions are an opportunity to break the ice, have fun and make some pictures.
