Portraits Before The CeremonyDanvers, MA – Although the majority of our wedding photography is focusing on candid moments, we do spend some time with portraits of the bride and groom and their wedding party right after everyone is done getting ready. These portraits represent a distinct chapter in the wedding day story and are also a critical piece in building a rapport between the photographer and the wedding party. This in turn helps the formal portraits run a bit smoother as well, which is a benefit to everyone involved.
“You won’t really know if you got it, so keep shooting”Lowell, MA - This was one of the most high energy family sessions of last year. But what do you do when these sweet and adorable kids are so full of energy and can hardly stay still? In this case we got a lot of support from Mom and Dad (crucial to any family session), and we also took a ton of pictures. It was like shooting sports, where you follow the action and trust your auto focus. And of course we photographed the whole family together at the beginning of the session, when the kids were still warming up to the studio environment. After that we kind of just let them be themselves (which is our natural style anyway), as opposed to trying to pose them. The best part about a high energy session is that when you are looking back at your images your realize that you’ve captured their personalities perfectly.
Destination MassachusettsLowell, MA - Rachael+Ariel are planning their June wedding in Lenox, MA at the beautiful Seven Hills Inn. It’s actually a destination wedding for them and the majority of their guests because they are currently living in Florida. In fact they drove up only days before our engagement session. That’s a tough commute to get some wedding planning done, but we were delighted to hear that we’d have a chance to meet and have an engagement session before the wedding. It’s pretty important for the couple and their photographers to get to know each other before the wedding. Engagement sessions are an opportunity to break the ice, have fun and make some pictures.
Rachel + Joe’s Rock the Dress in Lodi, CALodi, CA - A photographer’s dream consists of a dynamic location, beautiful light, and of course, eager and responsive subjects. This session had it all, from Rachel’s choice of cowboy boots to the Farmall tractor to the broken down pick-up truck all the way to that gorgeous California light. With temperatures pushing triple digits all that week we need to give major credit for the resolve of Joe and Rachel who were pretty much game for anything we wanted to do that evening. We couldn’t have asked for a better Rock the Dress session, thanks to you Rachel and Joe!
