Perfect Day for a Perfect Couple

Wrentham, MA - Jen and Pat enjoyed a beautiful wedding at Luciano’s at Lake Pearl in Wrentham, MA yesterday afternoon. All day long we heard the coordinators, the waitstaff and the guests remark at “What a Perfect Couple” these two made. It’s so true, they are remarkably awesome together and for us, as their wedding photographers, it’s always inspiring to witness. Here is just a sneak peek at their wedding, with much more to follow!

Congratulations Jen and Pat!

Their Wedding, Their Way

Belmont, MA – We had the privilege of photographing Rob and Colleen’s wedding last November at the Belmont Country Club.  Rob and Colleen planned their wedding a bit differently. It was planned the way they wanted it and it was really special to witness and photograph. Not wanting a large ceremony, but still wanting to celebrate with all of their family and friends, they made a brave decision to have a private, smaller ceremony with only immediate family and super close friends. Feeling that this would take a bit of pressure off and allow them to enjoy the intimate moments of the ceremony. It worked!

They would get a bit of time by themselves as husband and wife and then have another ceremony (with Jewish traditions) for their entire guest list to witness. It also worked out that the bride and groom also got to enjoy cocktail hour with their guests because they worked in their portraits after the first ceremony. Genius!

This was a unique way of handling the pressure of the ceremony and a large guest list and it went over very well. Another added personal touch was that Colleen’s Dad made the chuppah himself. It was really well made and he was incredibly proud of it, as he should be. Overall this wedding was really well done and we can’t be more happy for the bride and groom.

Hammond Castle Wedding on the BBC World News...

Hammond Castle Wedding, BBC

Yes, you read that correctly, the BBC News! Click on the image to check it out!

Gloucester, MA – One of our most interesting weddings of 2010 was Danielle and Brayton’s, held at the Hammond Castle in Gloucester, MA. Both Danielle and Brayton wanted to incorporate their Celtic heritage so what better place to get married than in a castle, right?! Here’s the link to the Blog Post from last Summer if you’d like to check out a bit more of their day.

We were very pleasantly surprised on this past Friday night when we saw that Danielle had posted this link to the BBC World News on our Facebook wall. Pretty cool!

This very image also got some play on Off Beat Bride a few months ago as well. Hmm, we should probably put this image into our portfolio huh?

As photographers we are so happy that we can attract clients that love photography as much as we do and that are motivated to share their excitement with the rest of the world. Big thanks to Danielle + Brayton!

Mid-Winter Boston Common Engagement Session

Boston, MA – So our whole plan was to go skating at the frog pond to capture some candid moments and have Mark and Mandy all warmed up for some portraits. Well, what we didn’t anticipate was that it was one of the coldest days in January and a 45 minute wait just to get on the ice… YIKES! So, as you can imagine, without a proper warm up in single degree weather our super couple was a bit cold for the shoot, but they braved through it and we ended up getting some great stuff. Just looking at the images you wouldn’t think it was well below freezing out. Even though we didn’t get a whole engagement session in that day, we all had fun and certainly had something to laugh about in the future. And of course, Mark got to wear his Boston Bruins sweater for some pictures, which made his day!

Engagement sessions are such a good bonding experience between a couple and their photographers. We had  already had the opportunity to get to know Mark and Mandy a bit from photographing a wedding in October where they were both in the wedding party; but it was great to have the 2 on 2 time build that relationship up a bit. Because although we are in the business of photography, we’re also in the business of making people smile and that’s key to our photography. And for us, watching young people in love, laughing, braving the elements for the sake of pictures is really inspiring to us.
